We are looking for a decisive person with excellent communication skills and potential to grow with us.
Responsibilities:
• Provide quality customer service and ensure timely coverage analysis and communication
with insured(s) and carrier.
• Directly handle assigned auto first party claims of entry to mid-level complexity
(Collision, Comp, Cargo, Auto Property Damage).
• Proactively investigate each claim with expedited and appropriate contact with relevant
parties to determine potential exposure.
• Identify, select, and direct appropriate internal and/or external resources for specific
activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as appraisers and experts.
• Verify the nature and extent of exposure by obtaining and reviewing appropriate
records and damages documentation.
• Maintain and document claim file activities in accordance with established guidelines.
• Utilize diary management system to ensure all claims are handled timely. At required
time intervals, evaluate damages exposure.
• Establish and maintain proper indemnity & expense reserves.
• Develop and employ creative resolution strategies.
• Promptly negotiate proper disposition of claims with applicable parties.
• Appropriately manage expenses for cost-effective resolution.
• Update appropriate parties as needed, providing new facts as they become available,
and their impact upon the file’s exposure and resolution options.
• Appropriately handle information that is considered personal and confidential.
• Fulfill specific service commitments with the carrier and relevant business partners.
• Always operate within the specified authority.
• Actively provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced claim professionals to
increase technical expertise.
• Share accountability with business partners to achieve and sustain quality results.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Degree or GED required with a minimum of 2 years claim handling
experience.
• Experience utilizing computer technology, such as Microsoft Office, e-mail, Web-enabled
applications, and database software.
• Ability to accurately compute a variety of numerical calculations required.
• Licensing Required: In order to perform the essential job functions of this job, acquisition
and maintenance of Insurance License(s) is required to comply with provincial and
Company requirements.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

University/College degree or equivalent in business experience preferred.
• Entry to Moderate level of knowledge and skill in claims.
• Basic working level knowledge and skill in various business line products.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Able to make independent decisions on most assigned cases without involvement of
supervisor.
• Openness to the ideas and expertise of others and willingness to solicit input and share
ideas.
• Entry to mid-level understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, ISO
forms, and effective claim handling practices.
• Demonstrated coaching, influence, and persuasion skills.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to and support cultural change.
• Strong technology aptitude; ability to use business technology tools to effectively
research, track, and communicate information.
• Excellent reading, speaking, and writing of the ENGLISH language.
