About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to oversee the safety, quality, and effectiveness of medical care provided to a large and diverse patient population, with a focus on underserved and key communities. The CMO will be responsible for setting and achieving strategic clinical, financial, and staff goals, promoting wellness and resilience among the medical staff, and ensuring that the organization's principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion are reflected in all medical services. This leadership role involves serving as the primary medical contact for internal and external partners, leading performance improvement initiatives, and playing a key role in the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse medical staff. The successful candidate will also be involved in research, education, and training initiatives and will work closely with the senior leadership team to integrate advances in technology and healthcare organization into the practice. Applicants for the CMO position at the company must have an MD, DO, APRN, or DNP from an approved medical or nursing school, with a minimum of ten years of clinical practice and demonstrated leadership experience. The CMO is expected to be board-certified and maintain clinical competence, with a strong background in healthcare management, public health, or healthcare administration. The role requires a commitment to the organization's mission and values, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and build essential partnerships. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality improvement, patient-centered medical home principles, and be familiar with standards set by the Joint Commission, NCQA, and other relevant bodies. A focus on health equity, integrated care models, and a proactive approach to professional and non-clinical staff performance and wellness is essential.
