Job Description
We are seeking a logistics professional with expertise in Ocean freight pricing and transportation operations. In this role, you will lead strategic pricing, drive operational excellence, and optimize multimodal logistics solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize operational processes to enhance team efficiency and performance.
- Develop and manage competitive ocean freight pricing strategies to drive profitability and market competitiveness.
- Negotiate rates with ocean carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), ensuring cost-effective, high-quality service.
- Lead and manage end-to-end ocean freight operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and seamless coordination with ports, carriers, and warehouses.
- Oversee transportation logistics, ensuring adherence to cost targets, service timelines, and quality standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational costs and improve service delivery.
- Generate detailed rate quotations and proposals for internal teams and clients.
- Manage multimodal logistics operations, including trucking, rail, and drayage for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues such as delays, routing discrepancies, or documentation challenges.
- Partner with warehouse teams to ensure efficient cargo handling and inventory control.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop competitive pricing proposals and support new business acquisition.
- Present pricing structures and strategic insights to internal stakeholders and key clients.
- Ensure full compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in ocean freight pricing, transportation operations, and logistics management.
- Deep understanding of supply chain processes, warehouse operations, and transportation industry standards.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and freight forwarding practices.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with a proven track record in cost optimization and pricing strategy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; skilled in logistics software and data analytics tools.
- Experience with ERP and WMS systems is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet project or operational deadlines.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 20% for business-related purposes.
