• Part Time. AM and PM Split Shift
\n \n
• Year Round work following Elmira and Horseheads School schedules including Summer School.
\n \n\n

\n

Policy. Key Responsibilities:

\n \n\n

\n
• Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route
\n \n
• Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver
\n \n
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
\n \n
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process
\n \n
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents
\n \n
• Attends all safety and training meetings
\n \n
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door
\n \n
• Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily
\n \n
• Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows. Cleans outside
\n \n\n

• Assists driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards
\n \n
• Other specialized functions as required by contract.
\n \n\n

Qualifications:

• 21 yearsor older
\n \n
• Excellentcommunication & customerserviceskills.

• Mustbe able toworkshifts orflexible workschedulesasneeded.

• Pushandpullobjectsupto25pounds,occasionallythroughouttheworkday ; liftmaterialweighingupto 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Withstandheavytrafficareaswhileperformingthedutiesofthejob ; tolerateexposuretoconsiderable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
