Job Summary

Join a small nonprofit ready to grow and reach kids across Nashville and beyond!

Taste Quest empowers kids to nourish their bodies, their families, and their communities through play-based food education. We create activities that unite the power of playful learning with the power of food to help kids discover their own power to adopt healthier habits, build critical life skills, and practice serving their families and communities.

Over the last few years, we’ve been developing new tools for our enrichment partners to use with groups of kids. Our test groups reported extremely high engagement and shared wonderful moments of skill building, cross-cultural sharing, exposure to healthy foods, and a desire to share their creations with family. We are getting ready to publish and promote our new activity kit, as well as working to build our library of web resources.  We need ACTIVE board members who will lend time, talent, funds, and networks to grow our organization.

Job Responsibilities

Specifically, we need teammates who can assist with:

• Fundraising. We need to reach a sustainable level of production and distribution for our activities and methodology. For this, we need help building funding partnerships, attracting influencers, growing our following, and identifying and completing grant opportunities.
• Partnership Development. We have a growing library of tools designed for “enrichment spaces,” including afterschool programs, camps, homeschool tutorials, and some classroom environments, but marketing to these spaces incurs many challenges. We need board members who can help navigate securing and retaining partners.
• Nonprofit administration and Finances. We need help navigating solutions to admin questions as we scale. This includes help with legal questions, financial management, and HR questions, among others.
• Content production and marketing: We need help with producing content for print, web, and marketing, and knowing how to leverage all of it to build our following.

Qualifications

While Taste Quest focuses on nutritious food, our boarder vision is about seeing kids thrive in all areas of their lives. Our activities are designed to empower kids to nourish themselves: physically, emotionally, and socially. We seek teammates who understand this and want to see this vision realized. Ideally, partners will bring diverse expertise to our team, including experience in:

• partnership development
• Education
• curriculum development
• Fundraising
• nonprofit management
• grant writing
• Networking
• culinary education
• nutrition science
• serving underserved communities
