Job Description
Siegwart German American Law, Inc. is a small boutique firm specializing in cross border-representation and litigation, and international law, with particular focus on German-American inheritance matters.
We have an immediate opening for an attorney with at least four (4+) years experience in the area of probate and trust administration, representation of trustees, executors, and beneficiaries. Experience with probate and trust litigation is a plus. While this is a full time position, we are willing to offer a part-time arrangement to qualified candidates as the workload can be split
You will represent clients from Germany and German speaking countries in decedent estate and trust related matters out of court and in probate court in California.
German language skills are not required for this position.
You will handle estate and trust administration matters from inception to completion and represent foreign beneficiaries in their claims against personal representatives and trustees in California.

You will not work on nights or weekends. Billable hour requirements are below the industry standard. Hybrid work arrangements are available once you are established.
The ideal candidate has substantial experience with petitions to administer estates, probate administration and all related petitions as well as trust administration and related proceedings in probate court, and must be in good standing with the State Bar of California. Proficiency with e-filing and local Bay Area court rules as well as case management and courtroom experience is required.
We are looking for a motivated, proactive, detail oriented, dependable, and hard working professional with excellent legal research, communication, and team working skills.
