Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Associate Mission Assurance Engineer 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. You will learn to provide quality first technical support, independent of Engineering, through early intervention and understanding of design requirements. This role will support various Integrated Product Teams (IPT), to include System Test, through integration and involvement at the lowest to highest levels. Validate Program and IPT objectives are being met by understanding task performance that is verified by the team lead. You will learn and be required to analyze data, execute review processes, inspect product, test and evaluate product, and perform Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.

These functions will be executed through review of Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRL), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW), Program Specifications (PSPEC), etc. for compliance to requirements. You will further learn engagement skills required to support Supplier Management Teams, Sub Contract Administrators, Supplier Quality, Quality Field Engineers, Responsible Engineers (RE), Test Engineers, Safety Engineers, Materials and Process Engineers, and Reliability Engineers in order to verify compliance to quality standards and contractual requirements as they pertain to the equipment being procured. Attend and participate in events such as Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM), Integrated Review Board (IRB), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc. on an as required basis. Take part in assessments to identify quality related deficiencies, evaluate non-conformances, and negative performance trends and failures; assist in root cause and corrective actions necessary to prevent a future reoccurrence. Learn and produce daily /weekly metrics and information for team analysis and decision point development. This will require effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and an ability to work closely with the IPT teams and design group(s). Sound computer skills are needed with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 years of experience
  • Knowledge in Engineering, Manufacturing, Change Management or Program Integration.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Basic understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Basic insight into Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background
  • Drawing review and modeling tool experience, such as NX
  • Knowledge of the NGAS CLMT process, CheckMate and DFM Pro toolset.
Salary Range: $62,200 - $93,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
