PlayLab, an indoor playspace for young kids, is hiring for team members. We're a different kind of playspace- it's calmer, more friendly and relaxing; like visiting your friend's home to play, hang out, relax, and make friends.

This position would work at either of our locations, which are located in Eagle Rock and Hollywood.

Schedule: We're looking for somebody who can work a flexible schedule, which can include mornings (830am-2pm) or afternoons (130pm-730pm), as well as weekend parties.

Wages : $19/hr, plus opportunities for overtime. We also pay you $50 for each birthday party that you book, and you have the opportunity to earn tips if you work birthday parties (though these are normally on weekends).

Job Brief:
Each Team Member is a crucial part of our team; you'll keep the playspace clean and safe, and help our guests and customers.

Responsibilities include :

• Interacting with customers and providing great customer service, explaining our services and helping them make purchases, as well as making sure families are having a good experience by listening to their feedback, concerns, or problems, and finding ways to improve their visits.
• Ringing up transactions on the cash register
• Cleaning: this has always been a VERY important part of maintaining our playspace- helping clean toys, wiping down tables, floors, etc.
• Keeping the playspace safe and clean- picking up toys, keeping an eye out for spills, damaged areas, etc.
• You WON'T be required to take care or supervise kids; parents are required to do that here.
• Ensuring paperwork (waivers) are properly filled out by customers
• You will be often be the sole employee working on the shift, except for midday when there is some overlap.

Requirements Include:

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
• Professional presentation: appropriate attire and behavior for a family setting, especially around young children
• Good time management: getting the regular tasks done each day.
• Able to follow instructions and pay attention to details
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Computer literate- able to use basics like Word, Excel, plus Google Drive, Slack. Bonus points if you know how to use Squarespace, Photoshop.
• Good judgment (this one is super-important)

Personality/Traits

• Diplomatic- you may have to approach parents who aren't following rules, or who are upset, and find ways to resolve a problem
• Pleasant, polite, friendly, positive disposition. Able to have a conversation with a parent, and build rapport
• The squeamish need not apply. It rarely happens, but sometimes you'll have to clean up the aftermath of children's... erm, accidents.
