Job Title: Assistant Chief Building Engineer-Commercial Properties

Location: Seattle, Washington

Job Summary:

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of building systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role supervises a team of three building engineers, providing technical guidance, training, and performance management. The Lead Building Engineer coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots complex issues, and ensures compliance with all safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of three building engineers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to develop team skills and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and oversee the maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other critical building systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, coordinating repairs and outside vendor services as needed.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, reports, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with property management and other departments to plan and execute building upgrades or projects.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA Universal, Boiler License) preferred.
