Somerset is currently seeking an Operations Manager for Paper Machine #2 to develop and lead personnel and business process systems that fully support paper production. This position offers the opportunity to work and grow in a vibrant, forward-thinking mill with a team of highly skilled, dedicated employees. The individual in this role is integral to the overall success of the mill and is a key member of the management team. Essential Function Responsibilities: Lead productivity projects that result in significant improvements. Implement and utilize systems to manage operations effectively. Fill in for machine managers as needed. Special Skills/Certifications, etc.: Excellent communication skills. Strong computer skills. Ability to be promoted to higher levels of responsibility. Proven leadership in managing hourly and salaried employees and setting high expectations. Skill in improving organizational effectiveness and developing subordinates. Ability to lead and manage a team. Strong teamwork skills with peers and other areas of the paper mill. Strong safety leadership. Entry Requirements: Bachelor's degree in chemical, paper science, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical training and experience. Over 10 years of experience in coated, wood-free paper manufacturing operations. Successful experience managing 24-hour operations and multiple work crews. Extensive experience in coated, wood-free paper manufacturing, including on-machine coating, calendering, and winder operation (large, high-speed coated machine experience preferred). #J-18808-Ljbffr Sappi
