Appraisal Specialist Location Austin, TX :

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Appraisal Specialist . The right candidate will be responsible for ordering and uploading appraisals and final inspections on all loans originated by DHI Mortgage (DHIM).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Order appraisals submitted by the branch to the appraisers in accordance with established appraiser rotation policy and procedure while adhering to the outlined Central Appraisal Department (CAD) Order Processes
• Upload appraisals, final inspections and appraisal corrections from the Appraisal Management System for transfer to the Loan Operating System (LOS)
• Communicate with production offices and regional processing centers regarding appraisal status and receipt
• Communicate with appraisers regarding appraisal status and additional document collection
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
• Monitor Central Appraisal Department Dashboard for exceptions and make necessary adjustments and inform appraiser of changes
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
