The Opportunity

This position will be located in Abbott Park, IL.

The Analyst, Global Trade Analytics & Automation is part of the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team, a corporate function providing customs and trade compliance governance, and strategic planning support for Abbott's global import/export operations. The Analyst is responsible for leveraging Abbott's trade-related data, as well as data from external sources, to target potential savings opportunities, identify risks and anomalies that may result in financial exposure, and improve overall data quality. The Analyst is also responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions, and for providing project support to the management team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Leverage Abbott’s “big data” from a trade analytics standpoint to develop meaningful management reporting to help target savings opportunities and identify risks/exposure.
  • Perform validations and other queries to ensure and improve overall data quality, liaising with master data teams (or owners of other data sources) as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions through bot development or similar programming tools to improve efficiency and productivity within the global trade compliance function; develop user guides and/or provide training to users as appropriate.
  • Assist with annual global duty spend consolidations and Power BI reporting (e.g., trend analysis); prepare annual GDS submissions for US/PR sites.
  • Act as system administrator for various GTC systems (including the US and Global IMLs.
  • Assist with denied party screening reviews, to research and resolve potential hits and false positives.
  • Provide ad hoc project support for the Senior Managers, Global Customs Planning & Strategy; Manager, US Special Trade Programs; as well as the Senior Director and other GTC team members as needed.
  • Experience in big data analytics and bot development/ programming required.
  • Experience in technical research a plus. High attention to detail and resourcefulness (ability to leverage data from multiple sources) are essential. Accuracy of analytics and sound problem solving skills are essential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance or related field.

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
