Best Film: The Pitch by Mario Escobar

Running Time: 61 minutes | Filmed in: DV, Color | Completed: 2006 | Premiere: World Premiere

SYNOPSIS
Follow a restaurant manager who's a born storyteller, a left-of-center singer-songwriter, a devout Christian with a message of hope for Hollywood, a horse-wranglin’ ladies’ man with a passion for tales of horses and death, and a gentle philosopher with 20 years screenwriting experience, as they pursue the elusive dream of selling a screenplay in Hollywood.

Their touching, absurd, and often humbling journey leads them to the Creative Screenwriting Expo 3 in Los Angeles, where each of these industry outsiders will be given a rare opportunity: five minutes with a studio executive, producer, or agency to sell their ideas and stories. Will they succeed? Or will they fail? Find out when these writers give…The Pitch.

The Pitch is an intelligent look at what it takes to break into Hollywood as a screenwriter from the perspective of five unknowns. It’s also a film for anyone who’s ever had a dream, and was bold enough to follow it.
