SYNOPSIS
Four friends from St. Louis, MO travelt o the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to a remote mountain cabin. Their plan is to help a friend, Bryant, aka “HairKuTT” Johnson kick his 15-year addiction to heroin. This real life documentary takes many twists and turns as HairKuTT becomes sick from the poisonous drug that he becomes debilitated and leaves the mountain cabin for the streets of St. Louis more than ten hours away. After relapsing, his friends rush him to he hospital in an effort to save his life. Is this his deathbed or the springboard to a new life free from the drug that has dominated his existence? This real life story climaxes more than a year and a half later, with a tell-all truth about that fateful trip and HairKuTT’s final condition!

BIOS
Curtis Elliott, mortgage broker turned filmmaker. Born in the sixties, a native son of St. Louis, MO, he studied accounting, radio and TV at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. Curtis Elliott’s strong family ties and unique life experiences shaped the persona that brought you to the groundbreaking documentary HairKuTT, his first film. Curtis Elliott is the mind and driving force behind HairKuTT, a gripping story about four friends and a fateful trip to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, where Curtis, Anthony & Maurice worked tirelessly to help their friend Brayant (HairKuTT) kick his 15 year addiction to heroin, COLD TURKEY! The entire event was videotaped. Curtis and HairKuTT have since embarked on an anti drug campgain to inform the world about the ills of heroin use.

Ben Scholle lives in St. Louis, MO. He is a full-time member of the faculty at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, where he teaches video production, writing, and editing. In 2001, he received his MFA in Film and Electronic Media from American University in Washington, DC. HAIRKUTT is his first full-length documentary. His previous two short films, POTTERSVILLE, and MARYLAND 355, have enjoyed success in a number of film festivals and have screened internationally.
